- The dancing lyrics, it parallels to Last Kiss when she says she was not much for dancing and for him she did.
- In 2012 when Red was released, she said that it was about after years had passed by, she finally appreciated the relationship for what it was after she had just seen him. So it couldn't have been about Jake (emphasis on the "years") and I doubt it's about John. It could be about someone who isn't famous, but all signs point to Joe. I do recall hearing that she said it was about her first love at age 18 but I can't find a source. If it's true, it's definitely about him. :p
I want to know your interpretation on it though! :)
