"This is What You Came For" Song Meaning

Today's Taylor Swift song is the meaning of the song, "This is What You Came For" cowritten with Calvin Harris.  There is some major about "This is What You Came For" by Calvin Harris featuring Rihanna.  TAYLOR SWIFT wrote it and it was confirmed by Calvin Harris. It was rumored that she helped with the song, but only later was it discovered she wrote the initial song, and used a pseudonym Nils Sjoberg to hide the fact. She even sang on it. She did the initial voice vocals.  I want to hear that version.
What does this all mean?  I do not care how the confession of who wrote the song came out, but we have a new Taylor song this year!!!  So what is the meaning of this song? You have come to the right place.

This is Taylor's song to Calvin or Adam Wiles.  The main chorus says, "Lightning strikes every time she moves/And everybody's watching her/But she's looking at you."  It's basically saying she is surrounded by paparazzi all the time, lightening, but she is always or was always looking at Calvin. It is super sweet of her, saying she just wanted him. It also reminds me of the line in "Out of the Woods", "I was looking at you."

One of the stanzas says, "We go fast 'til they can't replay/Who knows why it's gotta be this way/We say nothing more than we need/I say 'your place' when we leave."  This is saying they go fast, when they are out and do not say much to one another when they are out for fear of listening ears.  They only say enough to get out of prying eyes.  The "who knows why it's gotta be this way" is a wondering why there is such a fascination with their relationship.  Why do people care so much?

But in the end, "Baby, this is what you came for".  Calvin came for Taylor.  It's too bad it did not last and I am not going to speculate why.  I am grateful they had the time to learn from one another and am grateful we got this amazing song.  I hope both are happy as they move forward.
